The other day I was flying to Adelaide from Melbourne and I thought that I would have a coffee and a quick coffee from Brunettis.. Now to give you a little bit of history, I moved to Melbourne 6 years ago from Adelaide and one of the first Cafes in the CBD that I tried was Brunettis, it is where I fell in love with Melbournes coffee cultures, so it was good to see an old friend.
As I approached I saw a rather long line and I was hoping that it would move quick as I like to be a little early for my flight. Thankfully they moved quick as as I came closer I eyed of the delightful pastries trying to decide what to choose. They had everything from 3 flavoured croissants (Including chocolate) multiple flavoured danishes, scrolls and much much more.. In the end I chose a raspberry danish and my weak latte.
The servers were in process mode and it was really hard to get any type of conversation or even emotion from them. That was a little bit of a let down as I was moved along like cattle. As I was waiting I had a look at the display of macaroons, cheesecakes, mudcakes and many other desserts. I only wished that I had more time to try a few!
When my order arrived I could not wait to try my danish and I was not disappointed! It was so so delicious! The pastry was soft and flaky, the fruit was poppin and the custard was like glorious silk! It was so good that I did not want it to end. The coffee was amazing and sadly I had to skull it down as my plane was boarding and I forgot to take a pic! But it had beautiful milk chocolate notes and I could of had another!
So all up with customer service, coffee and danish I give Brunetti at Melbourne airport a 7.8/10..
