The other day I went to Angelucci in Camberwell. Now I know that they used to be Brunettis and they still sell Brunettis products so not sure why the different name? Slightly confusing when trying to review haha.
Located on Prospect hill road Angelucci is surrounded by lush green trees which makes it a nice change to the government buildings that surround it. Just a small walk from the train station it is easy to find and a perfect setting for a summers day.
When first walking in I was greeted with a display cabinet of yummy treats, ice cream and savoury food that will tantalize the taste buds. The young lady behind the counter greeted me but just stood there as I was trying to decide what to buy. I tried to have a joke with her about the huge selection but she remained stony face. Such a bummer as good customer service can go a long way.
In the end I decided to get a chocolate and a salted caramel macaroon, yummo! And yummo they were. The chocolate one was sensational but when I bit into the salted caramel it all just melted in my mouth. It was like a glorious gooey volcano that was both perfectly sweet and salted!
I also ordered my standard weak latte and that was well standard. Nothing great about it, nothing terrible, just standard! The barista was really friendly though so that was a plus for me as who doesn’t love a friendly barista?!?
So all up with the customer service (a mixed bag there), amazing macaroons and average coffee, I give Angelucci in Camberwell a 7/10.
